BEECH GROVE, Ind (June 30, 2014)– Police are looking for two suspects after a deal over cell phones led to gunfire in a crowded Walmart parking lot.

Officers responded to the 4600 block of S. Emerson Ave. around 6:45 p.m. on a report of a person shot.

When officers arrived, they found a person shot multiple times. Police dispatch says the victim’s truck, a black 2008 Chevrolet Silverado, was taken following the shooting.

Officers say the shooting stemmed from a deal where four men met to exchange thousands of dollars in cell phones.

“As far as I know, they did meet here in the lot and there may have been some gunfire exchanged inside of the black Chevy Silverado,” Major Tom Hurrle with Beech Grove Police said.

Hurrle said the victim got out of the truck and started running before he was shot once in the arm and once in the chest. He was taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital in serious condition and later released.

Two suspects are on the run, considered armed and dangerous.

One is driving the stolen 2008 black Chevy Silverado. The truck may have chrome rims and it’s missing the right mirror. Truck plate is #TK675MCA

The other suspect is believed to be driving the car they arrived in, a black Chevy Malibu. The photo below shows both cars just before the shooting.
