CARMEL, Ind. (July 27, 2014) — Carmel police detectives are investigating a murder-suicide involving an estranged husband and wife.

Police have identified the couple as David Hall, 38 and Shannon Hall, 40. Police responded to a home in the 4600 block of Somerset Way South near 116th Street and Gray Road just before 8 p.m. after getting a call about shots fired. Once they arrived, detectives were able to gather preliminary information that reveals David Hall shot Shannon, then took his own life.

Police say the couple’s children, ages 8 and 10, were inside the home at the time, as well as Shannon Hall’s parents. Police say Shannon’s mother took the kids away from the home after the shooting, while her father stayed until police arrived.

Detectives are still trying to piece this together. Stay with FOX59 for the latest, this story will be updated once new information is released.
