INDIANAPOLIS (Oct. 24, 2014) – Two men were found dead inside an SUV Friday morning on the southeast side of Indianapolis.

Indianapolis Metropolitan police were called to the 3900 block of Southeastern Avenue just after 8 a.m.

The vehicle–a Chevy Suburban–was found at the side of the road. Homeowners thought they heard fireworks around 11 or 11:30 p.m. Thursday. When they got up Friday morning, they found the two men slumped over inside the SUV and called 911. The passenger side window had been shot out.

Police identified the deceased as Cardell Hoston, 33, and Steven Caldwell, 32, both from Indianapolis.

Police said the vehicle has a temporary plate. Neighbors don’t believe the men live in the area. This incident is being investigated as a homicide.

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at (317) 262-TIPS (8477).
