TOKYO, Japan (June 26, 2014) – Japan has launched the world’s first robot newscasters.
The remote-controlled-machines have silicone-skin and artificial-muscles.
They actually move their lips to voice-overs.
Both androids will work at Tokyo’s National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation, interacting with visitors to collect data for studies into human reactions to the machines.
During the special exhibit they delivered news about an earthquake, and even told jokes!
There were some minor issues with the robots, but, overall creators said they worked well.
