Colts receiver Reggie Wayne ruled out for Sunday’s game vs. Steelers

INDIANAPOLIS (Oct. 24, 2014) – After spending most of the 2013 season without the services of Reggie Wayne at least the Colts will know what to do when it happens again on Sunday.

On Friday afternoon head coach Chuck Pagano said that the veteran receiver will miss Sunday’s game against the Steelers with an elbow injury suffered in last week’s win over the Bengals.

Wayne was not able to practice this week and will be held out because of it. This comes just a year after a torn ACL ended his season in late October–the first significant time he missed in his successful career in Indianapolis.

Pagano didn’t reveal who would take Wayne’s place in the starting lineup.

While not the Colts’ leading receiver in his return from his ACL tear, Wayne continues to be productive. In the first seven games he caught 38 passes for 484 yards. He had a touchdown against the Titans in late September.

Running back Trent Richardson and tight end Jack Doyle are listed as questionable for Sunday and Pagano didn’t tip his hand on the odds of either one of them playing.

Two who will be back for the Colts at Heinz Field are defensive tackle Arthur Jones and cornerback Darius Butler who will return to the field after recovering from ankle injuries.
