INDIANAPOLIS (April 21, 2014) – The Indianapolis Colts will open the 2014 preseason on the road against the New York Jets.

They’ll host the New York Giants and New Orleans Saints before wrapping up the preseason on the road against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Here’s a look at the schedule:

  • Thurs., August 7, at New York Jets, 7 p.m.
  • Sat., August 16 vs. NEW YORK GIANTS, 7 p.m.
  • Sat., August 23, NEW ORLEANS, 8 p.m. (CBS)
  • Thurs., August 28 at Cincinnati, 7 p.m.

This marks only the second time the Colts and Jets have faced off in the preseason. The Jets won 31-7 during a 2004 meeting at the RCA Dome. The Colts face the Giants for the second straight year; Indy beat the Giants 20-12 during last year’s preseason tune-up at MetLife Stadium.

The Aug. 23 preseason matchup against the New Orleans Saints will be televised nationally. The two teams last met in the preseason in 2006, when they squared off in Jackson, Miss.

The Cincinnati Bengals are nothing new to the Colts’ preseason schedule; the two teams have played every season since 2001 in what has become the traditional preseason finale for Indy. Overall, the Bengals hold a 14-8 record in the preseason series, including a 27-10 triumph last year.
