INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (April 20, 2014) — One person is dead and another seriously injured after a fire engulfed two homes on the northwest side.

It happened early Sunday, around 12:30 a.m. near W. 28th and Rader streets.

The Indianapolis Fire Department has listed the cause of the fire as undetermined.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday for the body that was found in the home, but an identity has not yet been released.

IFD says both houses involved in the fire were structurally unsafe and had to be demolished by the Department of Code Enforcement on Sunday.
