TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (August 5, 2015)– Northbound I-65 near Lafayette has reopened following repairs to the Wildcat Creek bridge between the State Road 26 and State Road 25 exits.

INDOT says the I-65 bridges over the creek are being improved as part of an $82.8 million construction contract. Crews will replace rocker bearings with reinforced rubber pads, widen the bridge, replace the concrete deck, install stone to minimize erosion along the creek and encase the bridge ends in concrete.

I-65 also will be widened to three lanes in each direction from State Road 38 to State Road 25.

I-65 lane closures for construction will resume each night between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. During the day, INDOT says two 11-foot-wide lanes will be maintained in each direction.

The project is expected to be completed in late 2017.
