INDIANAPOLIS (Feb. 21, 2014) – Indianapolis Metropolitan police say the first homicide of a deadly day happened Thursday morning.

Around 9:30 a.m. Thursday, police were dispatched to the 2100 block of North Kenyon Street to check out a report of an unresponsive person. Officers found 50-year-old Leroy Barker dead inside the home.

The Marion County Coroner’s Office conducted an autopsy Friday morning and ruled his death a homicide. Detectives have not released information about suspects or how Barker died. The homicide was the first of a series of killings that happened Thursday morning through early Friday.
