IMPD sent out the following letter:
Dear friends of Law Enforcement,
The IMPD Law Enforcement Explorer Post 435 donated over 1,000 hours in community service in 2013.
We volunteered for events such as the Talbot Street Art Fair; The INDY 500; Allstate 400; St. Patrick’s Day Parade and many other major events in the City.
Now the IMPD Explorer Post 435 is looking for business and individual sponsors to help send representatives to the 2014 National Law Enforcement Exploring Conference from July 14 – 19 2014. This year’s conference will be held in Bloomington Indiana and the conference fee is $475 per Explorer or adult, plus a non-refundable Post registration fee. We are requesting sponsorships or donations to help cover their expenses.
The National Law Enforcement Exploring Conference is conducted every other year and is attended by thousands of Law Enforcement Explorers and their adult leaders from throughout the country. The conference program provides a week of team and individual competitions, seminars, demonstrations, exhibits, recreation, and fun.
There will be team competitions in events such as: Arrest and Search, Bomb Threat Response, Burglary in Progress, Shoot/Don’t Shoot, Officer Down, White Collar Crime, and Emergency Field First Aid, just to name a few.
Our goal is to send 10 IMPD Explorers and adult advisors to this year’s conference. It is our sincere hope that you will consider donating or sponsoring one of our Explorers.
Donations may be made by check and mailed to: INDY PAL Club
4209 N. College Ave.

Please write IMPD Explorers in the MEMO line of the check.
Cash donations will also be collected at the Indianapolis Professional Police Officer’s Credit Union.

We thank you for your continued support of the future of Law Enforcement in Indiana.
Sincerely,
Sgt. George Long IMPD, Post Supervisor
