BROWN COUNTY, Ind. (January 5, 2015) – The search is on for a hunter missing in Story, Ind. near Brown County State Park.

Indiana State Police say the man went hunting around 7 a.m. on Sunday.

The man had been sending sporadic texts and indicated to state police that he was lost and his phone was about to die. And according to ISP his phone died around 2:30 a.m. Monday.

Officials have concentrated their search around Elkinsville Road and Mount Nebo Trail Head, which is near Brown County State Park.

The man is identified as Jackie Bellinger. He’s described as 6’0″ tall and 155 lbs. with blue eyes, blond hair and a mustache. He was driving a blue, full-size extended cab with a camper shell. The vehicle has been found, police said.

The Brown County Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Natural Resources is leading the search, and ISP is assisting. Investigators told FOX59 they’d narrowed the search to a one-mile area. An estimated 15 to 20 people were looking for Bellinger.

ISP says it is imperative that they find the man very soon considering the harsh weather.
