HANCOCK COUNTY, Ind. (August 12, 2015) – A bicyclist was killed and another was injured after they were hit by a suspected underage drunk driver.

The Hancock County Sheriff’s Department/Greenfield Police Department Fatal Accident Crash Team were called to the area of 4300 W 300 South around 9 p.m. August 11.

According to police, two bicyclists were traveling on the right roadway edge of County Road 300 South traveling west when they were hit from behind by a 2010 Hyundai Accent.

A juvenile male was driving the car, and he stopped at the scene and waited for Law Enforcement / EMS to arrive.

Carla McCloud, 22, of New Palestine was seriously injures, and she was airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital where she later died of her injuries.

Amanda Wheeler, 22, of Greenfield also sustained serious injuries, and she was transported to an Indianapolis hospital.

The driver had no injuries as a result of the crash.

Officers at the scene suspect he was intoxicated, and he was taken into police custody.

His name is not being released at this time.

At this time the investigation ongoing.
