BOONE COUNTY, Ind. (Jan. 27, 2015) – A man was killed Tuesday morning following a crash on Interstate 65 in Boone County.

Emergency crews responded to several crashes in the area due to slick and hazardous roads. The first crash occurred in the south bound lanes just north of Lebanon around 2 a.m. A SUV rolled over around the 140 mm, but fortunately no one was injured.

A second crash occurred around 2:20 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-65 near the 141 mm. In this accident a semi hit the back of a Lebanon Police squad car. No one was injured in this accident either.

A third crash occurred around 2:55 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-65 at the 140 mm. This crash involved between four to five semis and a commercial van. A man was killed in this accident. A semi-truck driver from Illinois had pulled over to check on his vehicle, when another semi struck and killed him, causing a chain reaction of crashes.

The lanes were closed for several hours.
